Bitkub Coin Directory
02.11.26
# Bitkub Coin Directory (203) — Alphabetical ## The main difference: coin vs token (and how they're issued) The short answer: a **coin** is the native asset of its own blockchain (it pays for gas and often secures the network). A **token** is issued on top of another blockchain (it relies on that chain's consensus/security). "Mineable" vs "issued like fiat" is only part of the picture. ### Issuance models (how new supply enters) | Model | How it works | Examples in Bitkub's list | |---|---|---| | **PoW (mined)** | Block rewards from proof-of-work (hardware + energy). Capped/variable supply. | `BTC`, `BCH`, `LTC`, `DOGE` (merged-mined with LTC), `ETC`, `CTXC` (Cortex), `ZIL` (historically/minable) | | **PoS / DPoS / other consensus** | Validators/stakers lock coins to secure the network; rewards come from issuance/inflation. No "mining rigs" in the same sense. | `ETH` (since Merge), `SOL`, `ADA`, `DOT`, `AVAX`, `ATOM`, `NEAR`, `SUI`, `APT`, `TON`, `TRX` (DPoS), `HBAR` (Hashgraph), `XRP`/`XLM` (different consensus) | | **Pre-minted / contract-issued** | Created at genesis or by a smart contract, often distributed via ICO/airdrop/team/investors. No PoW mining. Supply unlocks over time. | Most ERC-20 style tokens: `UNI`, `LINK`, `AAVE`, `ARB`, `OP`, `PEPE`, `PENGU`, etc. | | **Fiat-backed stablecoin** | Issuer mints/burns against reserves (usually fiat + cash equivalents). Closest to "issued like fiat". | `USDT`, `USDC`, `BUSD` (legacy), `USAT` | | **Crypto-backed/algorithmic stablecoin** | Backed by on-chain collateral or mechanisms; DAI uses crypto collateral, `ENA`/USDe has its own design. | `DAI`, `ENA` (and related), `RSR` | | **Exchange/token issued by company** | Issued by an exchange/protocol operator; often used for fee discounts, burn mechanisms, or platform utility. | `KUB`, `BNB`, `GT`, `FTT` (legacy), `SUMX` | ### Coin vs token | Aspect | **Coin (native)** | **Token** | |---|---|---| | **Where it lives** | Its own blockchain (L1/L2 native). | Issued on another chain via smart contract (e.g., ERC-20 on Ethereum). | | **Purpose** | Usually pays gas/fees and secures the network. | Utility, governance, RWA, memecoin, etc. — depends on the project. | | **Security** | Secured by its own consensus. | Security comes from the host chain; if host fails, the token still depends on it. | | **Examples** | `BTC`, `ETH`, `SOL`, `BNB`, `KUB`, `ADA`, `XRP` | `USDT`, `UNI`, `LINK`, `ARB`, `PEPE` | **Key correction to your intuition:** "mineable" is just *one* issuance method (PoW). Most coins/tokens on Bitkub are **not mineable** — they're PoS-secured coins or pre-minted tokens. The "issued like fiat" comparison fits best for **stablecoins** (especially fiat-backed ones like USDT/USDC), not for most governance/memecoins. ## All Bitkub coins/tokens (203), sorted alphabetically | # | Coin | Ticker | Category | Notes | |---|------|--------|----------|-------| | 1 | 0x | ZRX | DeFi | | | 2 | 1inch Network | 1INCH | DeFi | | | 3 | Aave | AAVE | DeFi | | | 4 | Aethir | ATH | AI / Compute | | | 5 | Aevo | AEVO | DeFi | | | 6 | Aerodrome | AERO | DeFi | | | 7 | Algorand | ALGO | Layer 1 | | | 8 | Altlayer | ALT | Infrastructure / Restaking | | | 9 | Ankr | ANKR | Infrastructure | | | 10 | ApeCoin | APE | Gaming / Metaverse | | | 11 | API3 | API3 | Oracle | | | 12 | Aptos | APT | Layer 1 | | | 13 | Arbitrum | ARB | Layer 2 | | | 14 | Arcblock | ABT | Infrastructure | | | 15 | AUSD | AUSD | Stablecoin | Ticker not shown in source | | 16 | Avalanche | AVAX | Layer 1 | | | 17 | Axie Infinity | AXS | Gaming | | | 18 | B3 Base | B3 | Gaming / Layer 3 | | | 19 | Balancer | BAL | DeFi | | | 20 | Band Protocol | BAND | Oracle | listed as BAND (4) | | 21 | Basic Attention Token | BAT | Utility | | | 22 | Benqi | QI | DeFi | | | 23 | Binance USD | BUSD | Stablecoin | DE; Some legacy assets (`LUNA`, `MATIC`, `BUSD`, `FTT`, `OMG`, `WAN`, `RDN`, `EVEREX`, `INFINITUS`, `GF`, `FTX`) remain listed at the time of writing. Categories are an assistant classification based on use case; they're not necessarily Bitkub's official taxonomy. **Breakdown by category (from this list):** DeFi (30), Layer 1 (23), Interoperability (8), Gaming (9), Infrastructure (7), Stablecoin (6), Oracle (6), Staking/Restaking (6), RWA (6), AI/Compute-related (various), etc. The vast majority are either PoS/L1 coins or smart-contract tokens; only a small handful (`BTC`, `BCH`, `LTC`, `DOGE`, `ETC`, `CTXC`, `ZIL`) are/were mineable via PoW
