A Conception of the Divine Field

A Conception of the Divine Field September 19, 2026 An essay by Hans-Jörg Müllenmeister Einstein and the Divine "God does not play dice," Albert Einstein once remarked. Indeed, the Divine is not a gambler providing a stage for chance. Rather, it may reveal itself as a field of pure potentiality—a timeless space where order does not laboriously emerge, but simply *is*. The Physics of the Creator and the Measure of Created Beings If we explore this idea further, the Creator operates according to a unique set of principles, far transcending the physics He bestowed upon His creation. Our world remains bound by finitude: limited by the speed of light, shackled to the fabric of space-time and the transience of duration. These cosmic boundaries are not attributes of the Divine; they are merely the governing parameters of a created order. The Origin itself appears boundless, unbound by place or moment. This is the foundation of the profound promise: "God is always with us." Such an existence is conceivable only if this activity is non-local, unlimited, and simultaneously present everywhere. Were a Creator to guide an event at the distant edge of the Milky Way while being present—at that very instant—in a galaxy millions of years away, all of this would have to occur in absolute simultaneity: in zero seconds. This concept pushes us to the limits of our own intellectual reach. A disembodied principle eludes our realm of experience. It remains beyond our grasp because our perception is irrevocably chained to causality, space, and time. Carrier Particles and the Indivisible Whole The laws of nature in our universe are selectively bound to their carrier particles: the graviton mediates gravity, the photon transports light, and the gluon binds atomic nuclei together. A "God-field," by contrast—if we may even attempt to clothe it in the inadequate imagery of our language—would be of an entirely different, highly complex nature: it would be borne by immaterial, non-corporeal agents of action. Here, the fundamental limit of the search for a universal "Theory of Everything" becomes apparent. The hope for a single, purely mathematical equation for the cosmos remains an illusion. A God-field cannot be reduced to a single, monistic fundamental principle. It is an infinite web of relationships that our known physics merely brushes against, touching only a tiny, fleeting subset. This is why Stephen Hawking’s stance provokes my dissent: how could he, in his reasoning, rule out the Divine *per se*—as if human astrophysics were already the measure of all things? It betrays a certain hubris to believe that our mathematical formulas are not too narrowly conceived to grasp such a comprehensive system of interaction. A Realm of Limitless Potential for Action Perhaps the God-field is not a field in the physical sense, but a dimension of pure potential. A realm where presence is not mediated by movement or speed, but simply by pure being. Here, time does not pass; it is transcended. Here, the Divine does not act in isolated locations, but as an indivisible whole. The universe then reveals itself not as a rigid law, but as an infinite abundance of resonances between cause and effect that extend far beyond our material reality. The Fundamental Paradox Our finite minds cannot fully encompass the infinite. Any attempt to explain everything—the spiritual, the material, and the suprasensible—in purely mathematical terms fails to recognize that our physics is merely the visible shore of a vast, hidden reality. It is not spacetime that gives rise to the Divine; rather, the Divine Field is the matrix from which space and time themselves emerge. The Language of the Field: Four Keys to Understanding To make this intangible dynamic accessible to our minds, the interplay of physics and philosophy offers us images that sparkle like parables: Non-locality (the dissolution of separation). In the quantum realm, entangled particles remain instantaneously connected across light-years; what happens to one is experienced by the other at the very same moment, without any time lag or traveling signals. Applied to the Divine Field, this means it knows no separating "here" or "there." The Divine need not traverse distances; it is absolutely and simultaneously present in the whole and in the minutest detail. Resonance (the principle of sympathetic vibration). When a tuning fork is struck, a second, identically tuned fork in the room begins to sound on its own, connected by an invisible wave. Similarly, our consciousness is not a producer of spirit, but a fine string that responds to the frequency of the Creator. In listening and in silence, we do not grasp the Infinite rationally; instead, we come into harmony with it. The cosmic carrier field. Modern physics teaches that the vacuum is not empty but interwoven with invisible background fields that bestow mass and structure upon particles. This field is the bridge across which spirit becomes matter: it captures the pure, unbound energy of the Divine Field and allows it to crystallize into patterns we can measure and touch—into stars, worlds, and our own bodies. The monistic principle: the illusion of the rigid formula. The philosophy of monism seeks a single, indivisible primal law that governs everything. Yet the longing for such a bold "Theory of Everything" falls short. The Divine Field is not a monotonous mathematical equation, but a living, infinite web of relationships whose dynamic richness transcends any rational reduction. The geometry of transcendence Our everyday world is structured by measurable axes, paced by countable sequences, and ordered by logical events. The Divine Field, however, transcends these coordinates in a way we can only begin to intuit. True understanding likely begins where classical physics falls silent: in the face of eternity, timelessness, non-locality, and wholeness. Here, eternity signifies not infinitely extended time, but the complete absence of duration. Timelessness reveals itself as an eternal "Now," devoid of any separating yesterday or tomorrow. Non-locality describes an immediate mode of action that transcends spatial distance. Wholeness signifies an absolute state that cannot be broken down into individual parts. While the universe is measurable in terms of space, time, and energy, the Field of God breathes in presence, wholeness, and pure possibility. The Trinity of Action When human consciousness, the cosmic carrier field, and the Field of God are interwoven, a three-tiered model emerges—one that does not offer a clinical explanation of the world, but rather makes it comprehensible to our souls: The cosmic carrier field (the structure). A universal background field serving as the ordering matrix for the physical world. It shapes energy within our space-time into visible matter and gives form to the cosmos. Consciousness (the resonance). A subtle channel and a profound phenomenon of resonance. It connects us, as finite beings, to the infinite field of the Creator; consciousness is the delicate point of contact between matter and transcendence. The Field of God (the source). The absolute, timeless primal source. A metaphysical field of action where structure and resonance find their true origin. These three levels do not exist in isolation; they overlap and interpenetrate like the fine layers of a single, infinite realm of action. This trinity of action can be illustrated through the metaphor of a spiderweb. The Field of God resembles the spider. It is the origin—not located within the web itself, but the very force that brings it into being. From it emerges the order that sustains the whole. The cosmic field corresponds to the web itself—a structure of threads, tensions, and nodes through which forces and information are transmitted. It is the visible structure that grows out of the origin. Our consciousness is the resonance within the web: that subtle vibration arising when something touches the structure. Consciousness is neither the thread nor the source, but the perceptible aspect of the relationship between the two. Thus, the metaphor reveals that the Field of God, the cosmic field, and consciousness are three distinct levels that nonetheless exist within a single, unified dynamic—like the spider, the web, and the resonance. In short: The Field of God is the spider, the cosmic field is its web, and our consciousness is the resonance connecting the two. The Point Where Worlds Touch In this multidimensional space, the finite is never separated from the infinite but is profoundly imbued with its spirit. Consciousness becomes that sacred threshold where the universe begins to become aware of itself. Perhaps our greatest insight is that we need not fully grasp the Infinite intellectually in order to be sustained by it. Our thinking cannot reach the distant edges of the divine field—yet our very being can allow itself to be touched by it. Here, perhaps, lies the true destiny of humankind: not to comprehend the Whole, but to open ourselves humbly to the greater context—to that Power which brings us forth, quietly accompanies us, and infinitely transcends us. The Invisible Ground The divine field is the invisible ground upon which all things rest, without ever becoming rigid or static. It is a space composed not of matter, but of possibility; not of passing time, but of pure presence; not of separating distance, but of protective nearness. In this mysterious space, the finite touches the Infinite without ever being able to fully grasp it—and yet, this fleeting touch is entirely sufficient to sustain the whole world at its very core. The Nearness of the Divine We may often seek the Divine in the wrong place. It does not wait for us in the stars, but in the rising up of our own inner silence. It reveals itself not through rational proof, but through deep, inner accord; not through clamorous knowledge, but through attentive listening. Yet how often do we feel abandoned by God amidst the wreckage of our lives or in the face of sudden natural disasters—such as the recent one in Nepal? "Why does He allow this? Is there an answer? And if so, what is it?" There is no answer in the sense of a reason. There is, however, an answer in the sense of an experience: the Divine does not shield us from pain but carries us through it—quietly, unobtrusively, unshakably. Not because it actively intervenes, but because it exists in the mode of holding us. Thus, suffering becomes not a counter-argument, but the very place of testing: Do we conceive of the Divine merely as a cheap shield, or as that deep space of resonance that accompanies us through the inevitable? In the end, we are left with a comforting gift: We need not comprehend the Infinite to be held by it. And so, the realm of the Divine remains a space that does not belong to us, yet gently guides us through existence—like the soft, familiar cosmic background noise that needs no words to say everything.
