1. open fstab $ sudo emacs /etc/fstab 2. add line like this (example) /dev/sdb1 /var/www/Movies ext3 defaults 1 2 3. it will mount automatic after reboot or you can just execute the command sudo mount -a explain for own settings: /dev/sdb1 is the first partition on harddisk /dev/sdb /var/www/Movies is a directory on my root partition where the hd will be mounted in ext3 is the file format default is the same than rw,suid,dev,exec,auto,nouser,async 0 0 dump-freq and pass-num
