Re-authorize your integrated application for Quickbooks09.04.26

This error message in QuickBooks indicates that an integrated application (likely the one that delivered the JSON data you mentioned) is no longer authorized to automatically access your QuickBooks data. This usually happens after changes to your QuickBooks setup, such as:

* **Password Changes:** The QuickBooks administrator password has been changed.
* **User Permission Changes:** The user account the application was using to connect has had its permissions altered.
* **QuickBooks Updates:** A QuickBooks update might sometimes trigger this.
* **Company File Changes:** Switching to a different company file.
* **Application Updates:** The integrated application itself might have been updated.

Here's how to fix it:

**Steps to Re-Authorize the Integrated Application:**

1. **Log in as the QuickBooks Administrator:** You *must* be logged into QuickBooks as the administrator to make these changes.

2.  **Access Integrated Applications Preferences:**
    *   Go to **Edit** menu.
    *   Select **Preferences**.
    * In the Preferences window, choose **Integrated Applications** on the left.
    * Click the **Company Preferences** tab.

3. **Locate the Application:** You should see a list of applications that are integrated with QuickBooks. Find the application that's causing the error. It might be identifiable by name. If you're not sure which one it is, think about which application you were using that generated the JSON data.

4. **Modify Application Permissions (If Necessary):**
    * **If the application is listed:** Select the application and click **Properties**. Review the settings. Make sure the "Allow this application to read and modify this company file" box is checked. You might also need to re-authorize it to log in automatically. The exact wording will vary depending on the application, but look for options related to automatic login or access.
    * **If the application is NOT listed:** This is less likely, but if it's missing, you'll need to run the application again and let it request access to QuickBooks. QuickBooks will then prompt you to grant permission.

5. **Grant Access:** When prompted by QuickBooks, grant the application the necessary permissions. Pay attention to the options presented. You'll typically have choices like:
    * "Yes, always allow access even if QuickBooks is not running" (This is usually what you want for automated processes).
    * The user that the application will run as. Choose the appropriate user (often the Administrator).

6. **Save Changes:** Click **OK** in the Integrated Applications preferences window to save your changes.

7. **Restart the Integrated Application:** Close and restart the application that's trying to connect to QuickBooks. This forces it to use the new authorization.

**Troubleshooting Tips:**

* **Application Documentation:** Consult the documentation for the integrated application itself. It might have specific instructions for QuickBooks integration and troubleshooting.
* **Firewall/Antivirus:** Sometimes, firewall or antivirus software can interfere with the connection. Make sure QuickBooks and the integrated application are allowed through your firewall.
* **QuickBooks SDK:** If the application uses the QuickBooks SDK, make sure the SDK is properly installed and configured.
* **Multiple Company Files:** If you have multiple QuickBooks company files, ensure the application is connecting to the correct one.
* **User Account Control (UAC):** In some cases, temporarily disabling User Account Control (UAC) in Windows can help with permissions issues. (Search for "UAC" in the Windows search bar to find the settings). *Remember to re-enable UAC after troubleshooting.*

**Example Scenario:**

You'd go to Edit > Preferences > Integrated Applications > Company Preferences, find "InventorySync" in the list, click "Properties," and make sure it's allowed to access the company file and log in automatically. Then, you'd restart the APIC application.
