How I installed my odoo debian service 17.12.24

## After odoo was running with the command 
```
./odoo-bin -c odoo.conf
```
* I wanted to run it automatically as a Debian service, so you I don't need to worry about staring it up, logging and maintaining etc.

# Setup
## I Made a config folder for the odoo config file and symlink to the debian wide /etc/odoo/ directory

```   
mkdir /etc/odoo/ 
ln -s /var/customers/apps/odoo/odoo.conf /etc/odoo/odoo.conf 
```

## I Created a System wide odoo user, so the service use this user to run 
```
adduser --system --group --home=/var/customers/apps/odoo --shell=/bin/bash odoo
```

## I edit the blueprint oddoo service file what comes with the gid, and after I copy it to  /lib/systemd/system/ folder
```
cp /var/customers/apps/odoo/debian/odoo.service /lib/systemd/system/
```
## Then I enabled the Service, start the service and check its status
systemctl enable odoo.service
systemctl start odoo
systemctl status odoo
```

[Unit]
Description=Odoo Open Source ERP and CRM
After=network.target

[Service]
Type=simple
User=odoo
Group=odoo
ExecStart=/var/customers/apps/odoo/env/bin/python3 /var/customers/apps/odoo/odoo-bin -c /etc/odoo/odoo.conf --logfile /var/log/odoo/odoo-server.log
KillMode=mixed

[Install]
WantedBy=multi-user.target

```

## my config odoo.conf file 
```
[options]
; This is the password that allows database operations:
; admin_passwd = admin
db_host = localhost
db_port = 5432
db_user = odoo7
db_password = XXXXX
addons_path = /var/customers/apps/odoo/addons
default_productivity_apps = True
