to encrypt text files automatically on your harddrive with emacs. so that encrypted files stay on your harddrive or pendrive but when you open it with emacs those files get decrypted and when you save it to disc it get encrypted. you can use ccrypt or http://www.emacswiki.org/emacs/AutoEncryption 1. for debain install ccrypt apt-get install ccrypt for windows download the compiled ccrypt folder, unpack it and add the environment variable path to this unpacked folder like c:\program files\ccyrpt.xxx 2. copy the file http://ccrypt.sourceforge.net/ps-ccrypt.el to your user folder emacs.d 3. in debian you have also the file .emacs and add the following line: (require 'ps-ccrypt) in windows copy this file named init.el into the folder emacs.d 4. now just save a file to as .cpt and you get prompt to use a password 07.12.13
